The OHHP – Taking Action for Healthy Living has been in place since 1990, and is a leader in the delivery of community based programs for active healthy living.
Success comes in many forms
-
Partnerships have been built with non-traditional groups. E.g. elected officials, private business
-
There has been an increase in the number and depth of joint activities for healthy eating, physical activity and smoke free living at the community level
-
Local priorities and needs are linked to broad provincial strategies
-
Through the sharing of information and resources, leaders have increased their ability to address the needs of all community members, including those most at risk for chronic diseases
Promoting healthy eating, physical activity and smoke free living
Community collaboration is the act of working together to support a common goal through partnership. It is not about “merging”, but finding common ground.
